Gift Cards & Store Credit

A gift card from What Next makes the perfect gift for any occasion!  The Gift Card is a wearable HUD,  making it easy to use to buy products from our in-world main-store.

Gift cards are available in denominations of L$250, L$500, L$1000, L$2000 and L$5000.

The gift card stand is by the mainstore landing point.

 

HOW TO BUY A GIFT CARD

Our gift cards use the CasperVend vendor system

1. At the main-store landing point, you’ll find a small rack with the gift cards on.

2. You’ll see cards with the various denominations: L$250, L$500, L$1000, L$2000 and L$5000

3. Before purchase, make sure your status isn’t set to unavailable/ busy/ do not disturb.

4. Choose a denomination and click on the card and pay.

5. Accept the card before leaving the sim and WEAR it immediately to activate it (very important). If you

HOW TO USE YOUR GIFT CARD (V.3.01 & V.3.02) 

1. Wear the card immediately after purchase to activate it.

2. Click “Menu” and choose “Verify” to validate that this is a genuine gift card.
NEVER GRANT DEBIT PERMISSIONS UNTIL YOU HAVE VERIFIED YOUR GIFT CARD IS GENUINE.

3. Visit the What Next mainstore. Find an item you would like to purchase.

4. TOUCH the main panel of the vendor – if it’s a multi-product vendor, make sure the product you want to buy is on the large centre panel (move the products by touch or using the arrows)

5. The product which you have chosen will appear on the card. Check that the details are correct.

6. Hit “Buy Now” to commence purchase.

TROUBLESHOOTING ISSUES

ACTIVATE EACH CARD IMMEDIATELY AFTER USING TO AVOID THESE ISSUES!

  1. If you accidentally transfer a L$0 balance card because you didn’t activate it, ask the recipient to transfer the card back to you, wear it to activate, then return it to the recipient.

2. If you didn’t activate a card after purchase and then buy more cards, the balance will combine on the first un-activated card.

What you can do in this situation is make sure your card is activated first, wear your card and use it to buy another gift card (wearing immediately after to activate it)

An example of this: you bought a gift card for L$500, you forget to activate it, then buy a second card for L$500 and forget to activate that one too, the balance from the second one automatically combines with the first un-activated card, giving one card worth L$1000. If you originally wanted two cards worth L$500 to transfer to two different people, what you could do is to use the card with the combined balance of L$1000 to buy another card for L$500. This way you would end up with two L$500 gift cards.

We’d recommend if you’re buying multiple gift cards on the same day that after buying a card and wearing it to activate it, you then move it to a folder in your inventory you’ve named (perhaps the name of who it’s for and the amount),  to make it easier to keep track of which card is which, especially if the cards have different balances.

Gift cards are transferable only , they cannot be redelivered.

= Don’t have enough credit? =

If you wish to increase your balance, there is a gift card top-up terminal at the main-store landing point (where the redelivery /gift card vendors are located)

If you select a product which costs more than your available balance, you will be given the option to top-up the card
to cover the full cost. If you choose to do this, you’ll be given a DEBIT PERMISSIONS dialog. You will need to grant
permissions in order for the card to be able to complete the top-up and purchase the item.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR GIFT CARDS BOUGHT BEFORE OCTOBER 2019

These instructions relate to gift cards bought between September 2018 and September 2019.

1. Visit the What Next main-store inworld.

2. Wear your gift card (right click on it in your inventory and
choose ‘add’ to wear it)

3. You’ll see your gift card HUD on the bottom right of your screen.
Floating text above it will tell you the balance in L$.

4. Left click on a vendor of your choice : – you’ll see the product picture
and a BUY NOW button appear on your gift card.

5. Touch the ‘BUY NOW’ button on the gift card to purchase the product.

6. If the product is more expensive than the balance on your gift card, a
popup window will ask if you want to pay the difference.

7. If the product is less expensive than the gift card balance, you’ll see
a remaining balance on the floating text.

8. Detach your gift card (right click on the HUD and choose detach, or do it from your
inventory. Remember to keep your gift card, if you still have a L$ balance on it.

GIFT-CARD TOP-UP TERMINAL (V.3.01  and v. 3.02 ONLY)

At the main-store landing point, on the wall, you’ll see the Customer Service Terminals-
Redelivery Terminal, Group Joins etc and also a Gift Card Top-Up Terminal.

You can top-up your gift card balance if you want to:

1. Wear the gift card

2. Pay the Gift Card Top-Up terminal to increase your gift card balance

3. If you forget to wear your card and pay the terminal, you’ll receive an
automatic refund.

4. The top-up terminal only accepts payments in Lindens (Your inworld SL L$ balance).

GIFT CARD TERMS OF USE & HELP

1. A What Next gift card is for use at What Next only.

2. Gift Cards can only be used at the main-store on vendors (not the Marketplace)

3. Gift Cards cannot be refunded for cash (Lindens)

4. Purchases using this gift card do not receive the 10% off VIP
group discount.

5. V.3 Gift cards and earlier do not stack or combine balances. Version 3.02 gift cards can have their balance combined:

If you wish, you can transfer the balance of one of your gift cards to another card.

– Wear both cards (you may need to move one of them so you can see them both on your HUD)

-On the card you wish to transfer balance FROM, touch “Menu” and “Transfer”

-On the card you wish to transfer balance TO, do the same thing again

– Your balance will be transferred to the second card.

6. Gift cards do not stack with your existing store credit balance.

7. Gift Cards purchased prior to June 2018 are no longer valid and cannot be
redeemed in the store: our previous vendor system (E2V) closed at the end of May 2018 and the scripts/gift cards
no longer work. Customers were given a lengthy notice to come into the store and redeem any outstanding cards before the system closed.

8. As of Nov 28th 2019: our gift card system has been updated with new features and security, this applies to new cards sold after this date.  If you’re not certain which version you have :the newest cards have V.3.02 at the end of the name.

If your card isn’t a HUD, it’s likely it’s an old card from the E2V vending system, which closed in May 2018, and these cards are no longer valid and unfortunately cannot be redeemed.

10. Cards have transferable permissions only – they cannot be redelivered.

11. Discounts/sales exclude gift card purchases – for example: the 10% VIP group discount or any store sale such as our annual 50% OFF sale isn’t applied when using a gift card or store credit to purchase products.

STORE CREDIT

As of June 2018: we changed our vendor system from E2V to CasperVend, when the E2V system shut down. All store credit balances were transferred to the new system. Vendors no longer award store credit, as VIP group members now receive 10% off products instead (excluding gift card and gacha purchases), BUT you can still use your store credit to purchase products. Credit purchases exclude any VIP group discounts.

To buy a product with store credit, touch your chosen vendor to bring up the menu and choose Buy With Credit.

Other ways to gift products:

You can purchase a specific product and have it gift-boxed and the box will be transferable for gifting (even though the product remains copyable) GIFTING

On the Marketplace:

All Marketplace products can be sent as a gift – use the “Add to cart as a gift’ button when purchasing.
